Default Can a intercooler be shortened? How to fit my Civic?

I bought a FMIC that is aprox 33 in long from tank to tank. Before I bought it I measured it and it would fit. Well turns out the guy gave me the core length and not the actual length and now it's too long. Can the core be shortened? If not how could I get this on my 91 Civic HB? anyone who has pictures of this on the 88-91 civic/crx would help. Thanks, for the help.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but i dont think you can shorten the IC itself the end tanks yes but not anything else.

As for getting it to fit what is the total length on it??

Total length is 33 in from outer edge of tank to tank.
