quick time electric cut out
i'm getting my gsr put in my hatch as we speak. my stock muffler has a hole in it, but instead of replacing the exhaust with a cat-back, i'm thinking i'll retain the stock piping, put on a new stock muffler, and have a quick time cutout welded in before the cat. that way i can keep the stock look but run right outta the headers basically at the flip of a switch. what im wondering is if anyone has ever done this and can tell me what they thought of it, or has any comments on the setup. if you havent heard of the cutout check out http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/qtec.htm.
good idea for the track maybe, or just get a good free flowing stock looking exhaust and 3" piping but i would never run a car like that on the streets.. i had to drive my car to midas to have the exhaust extended when i finished my swap and it was loud as ****.. every car on the street was looking over at me..
see but thats the beauty of it. itll stay stock sounding with the cutout closed but be loud as hell with it open and more powerful. not to mention its a switch u flip in the car. 5 seconds and its wide open
im thinkin about this too wit a turbo set up but would the stock piping be too constrictive on a turbo car? for n/a and i say it is a perfect fit for having the best of both worlds AND IT CHEAPERS THEN A CAT BACK
