Default Header Wraps..

I just bought me a 4-2-1 Chrome Header for my accord 2001 I4.

Is installation possible if I do it myself? If so, what tips can you give me? I've heard that the headers should be wrapped or so? What's the idea behind that ... and what if I don't wrap it and just bolt it on as it is... what will I gain and what will I lack??

Thanks..

The only reason i see that people wrap headers is because it reduces your underhood temp alot. Especially if you have aftermarket intake this will take away alot of horsepower if your header is not wrapped because underhood temp will be extremely hi and no cool air will be getting in your motor. Header wrap reduces temp to where you can almost touch it after turning the motor off. Doesnt get too hot at all.

who installed your headlights and your coilovers? if you did it, you should be well enough equipped to do it yourself. if you did not, i highly recommend taking it to your local pep boys (only because they sell APC stuff now)/tuner shop/install center and have it done. you shouldn't need header wraps for your F23. and i hope it's ceramic coated, not chrome, otherwise you're in for some flaking and smoking.

I believe the header is chrome. What do you recommend on header wraps for Chromed headers. Do you think I should wrap it or not? What about flak and smoke... can you explain a little bit more detailed about that disposition on that? I would appreciate it.. thanks.

http://<a href="http://store.summitr...m/...+wrap</a>

or http://www.summitracing.com and type header wrap at search if the link doesn't work and use Thermo tech brand wrap. 1 in wide is easier to use then the 2 in wide one
And buy high temp silicone spray and spray it on your wrapped header to prevent rust
