Default Should i clean my header?

so i just got my JDM 4-1 Header in the mail today. thanks to Trey and Steve at Import-Specialists.
just wondering if i should clean the greasy substance off the header before i install it. i figure it wil just burn off anyway, but will smell bad. if so anything special i should clean it with?

You should absolutely clean the header.... a metal polish is best.... It is a good idea to remove all residue before installing the header, thereby, allowing the header to turn a nice purplish blue brown.

If you do not clean it before installing them, what tends to happens is the header does not colour uniformly... some primaries will get darker then others... doesn’t look good.

This product is good.
