Hood lock kit
Is the mr Gasket kit any good? i mean do all the keys work with any setup? Or are they all different? I am planing on getting a set since all you hear on HT is that when a car is stolen they just reach up and pop the hood, unhook the batt, pull the alarm, rehook the batt and then they have themselves a new car. I want this kit so that i can not only keep my car but get rid of the hood release assembly and save me some weight. But i dont want it if all the keys match up. Any info would be helpful. some pics would also be nice.
Try wiring a chain of Rare Earth electromagnets together in parallel and have a solenoid in a hidden location (or on a keychain) that cuts power to them. If that doesn't work, buy a corolla: nobody steals those.
Mr. Gasket locks are good (and cheap, only $19 at most places) and I had 2 sets.... one on my stock hood, one on my CF hood on the same car. When I changed hoods, I had to change keys as one would not work in the other lock, and vis versa - should apply to all Mr. Gasket hood locks.
