Flywheel bolts
Okay I'll make it short and sweet. New flywheel going in. Need new bolts. I know to lok-tite them. Question is do I order new ones direct from Honda, or should I try the "upgraded" aproach and look for ARP or the like.
It's a Fidanza 8lb flywheel going in with a Exedy "stock-replacement" clutch I/E/P but, let's face it I'm not going to be nice to the new clutch.

get em from honda... we have never had problems w/the actual bolts... we have had problems w/aluminum flywheels getting all fucked up from the heat and the expansion causes the bolts to come loose tearing it all up.......... aluminum flywheel gets a
I have had my fidanza for over 2 years now, and no problems. I just recently took it off for some work to the motor, and the bolts were still tighter than all hell. I also loctited the bolts when I put them in. Fidanza has great service to if you ever have any problems. they get a huge

Thats the first time I have ever heard someone mention the flywheel bolts backing out. Has it happened a lot to you? You loctite them?

we have had this happed to 3 flywheels. all 3 times on a race track after about 8 laps. the bolts didnt back out.. the material under the bolts wore away making the bolts loose and the flywheel was rocking back and forth and elongated the bolt holes. we always use loctite and torque to spec... it will only be chromoly flywheels for us.
this has happened to a few of the guys we race with as well

sorry, this isn't directly related to your thread, but what kind of gains did you guys realize after installing the flywheel?? ... i know it's supposed to rev faster, but u guys have some quantitative or qualitative results??

i have never dyno'd a before and after for a lightflywheel... but on an ITR we got 5 hp from taking off the a/c belt... and normally we get about that w/a set of under drive pullies. flywheels are alot heavier than pullies so i would guess anywhere from 5-10hp. but hte main reason for a light flywheel is to have better responce, not more power.
5hp from an A/C belt? That is amazing because I thought the A/C compressor was on a clutch so in doesn't drain any engine power unless the A/C is on.... Is the PS on the same belt system?

All my bolt holes were fine when I looked at them.
