OT: A black Diablo and a silver Modena flew by me racing this morning at 8:20 am!!!
WOW! Is all I could say for about half an hour this morning. I got to work and the only thing coming out of my mouth was still, WOW!
I decided to take my R to work today, so I left a little early to go and get it out of the garage. On my way to work I was traveling on the Sprain Brook Pkwy Northbound, in the middle lane going about 80 mph, just cruising ahead of traffic.
When all of a sudden I heard sounds like I've never heard before. I thought an F1 car was coming up on me or something! I look in my rearview. And low and behold! Here comes a black Diablo in the left lane going 120+ easily! Making a sound that was UNBELIEVABLE! A split second later, a brand new silver Ferrari Modena making a high pitched noise like no other, (with temp plate still on it) comes up the right lane and cuts from right to left right in front of me going at least 120mph! They disappeared so fast I barely got a glimpse of them! But I saw just enough to make my day!!! I didn't even bother trying to catch up to those guys as it would have been in vain. It seems they were serious about their ****! Those guys were driving like maniacs at 8:20 in the morning, in and out of traffic! Just thought I'd share this with you guys. Later.

All jokes aside, the guy driving the Modena looked like Mike Tyson. But he went by too fast for me to get a good look at him.
Ah....New York got lots of rich and crazy people.
I saw similar things happend yesterday in the afternoon on Van Wyck Expressway (Queens).
But it was between a Blue M5 and a Silver AMG CL55.

The Modena had no tint on it at all. But like I said, they went by too fast for me to get a good look.

I just hope that they aren't jsut some rich dude who don't know how fragile there cars are and that after a little run like that that you have to let the car have a cool down period otherwise that could ruin a very expensive motor,

Also, put things into perspective. SO WHAT if they crash the cars. It is their cars and they are probably so rich that a Ferrari is just a "nice" car to them, where something like an Aston Martin or whatever may be considered slightly expensive. There are many people in NY area with TONS of money. But, with the present stock market, they better be careful ! ( A statistic I heard yesterday: 5% of the people in NYC make 20% of all income. So the rich are really really rich over here.)
A friend of mine had a Ferrari and it is sooo amazing. The suspension, engine, leather, etc. Great car. But, if I could afford, I would drive the mess out of it! Use up every bit of that 300-400hp !

Those cars are built for that kind of abuse.
Man I need one bad, I love the sound of hand built European built engines!

your kidding me right? ferrari's see more days in the shop than days on the road. durability isn't really an issue. Not as bad as bently's though, those things always have problems. I don't know anyone with a lamborgini but i heard those things are less reliable than ferrari's. You better have a service center near by when buying those things. I heard the bently's average maintanence cost is like 20 grand per year.
Hahahaha. I LOVE it when stuff like that happens. I drive the highways a lot, and I remember seeing 3 matching NSX's FLY by me at easily 100+ miles an hour. That just makes your day.
...ahhh... some day... some day...

A Ferrari, Lambo, whatever is like dating a very pretty stuck-up woman. We will put up with all of the issues because every time you look at her you are happy it is yours! And when you get tired of it, it is very easy to unload because someone else always wants it (her) !
IMy friend has two ferraris...512TR and a 355. We've run the hell out of them....burnt clutch from testing the G-tech, 170+ on the highway, 140 in back country roads in VA. The cars hold up fine. No problems.

I met this guy whose daily driver in the summer was a Diablo. He said every month he had to take it in for an oil change, and a valve adjustment. It cost about 2500$ everytime.
And he STILL couldn't drive the clutch
And he STILL couldn't drive the clutch
As nice as the Italian exotics are. The truth is, a $45k Z06 will give any lambo or Ferrari a run for its money. Lest we forget, any and all cars plateau after 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and Z06's do it in 4.1. BTW what ever happened to Boba-Fett?
Not to mention the STONE-RELIABILITY of the LS6 mill that can go 100,000 miles of hard-driving with little more than oil changes ($29.00) and spark plugs ($59.00). Still way cheaper to maintain than an Italian money-pit. But hey, If you've got it. Flaunt it, right!
all I was ssaying is that you can't ride you car hard and they just shut it off, and expect you super car to have no damage, yes there motors are fragile, just as race cars are also fragile!! if you have it on good authority that you can just run you diablo hard and then shut it off leave it in the garage till next time you have time to take it out(typical rich dude with many fast cars), and not expect damage fine belive who you want to but you are toying with expensive cars why not take car of them. It the same reason that turbo timers were develloped do let the engine cool off after being run hard
