specs on 93' disc brakes

Does anyone know how many pistons the front disc brakes have on a 93' Lx?

When I pulled off the caliper I only saw one cylinder that pushed on the rotors but I thought both sides of the caliper pushed on the rotors. Anyone got a decent link to explain this.
