Default 92-93 brakes vs 94-95

Well I was looking at a wilwood big brake kit they have on summit racing and noticed that it's only for 94 and up civics.

What is the difference between the brakes on a 92,93 and 94,95?

What would I need to do in order to get these brakes since my car is a 93 cx?

Yea, it sucks for the 92-93 ( im a 93 too) because in 94-95 the front rotors were a little bigger than the 92-93. My stock 93 brakes look like my rear discs, haha.

92-95 Civic suspension is pretty much the same. The only difference in brakes between these cars are the different models. for example.. EX brakes are bigger than your CX brakes.

They are not all the same. The 94-95s have slightly bigger rotors in the front. I think the caliper's are the same. I know this because 2 of my friend's 95 hatches ( a vx and si) have bigger front rotors than my 93 cx.

WTB: that picture comparing all the hatchback trims doesn't show anything about the size difference between 92-93 models and 94-95 models because those only list 95 specs.

I meant both my friends cars, which are a vx and si , and the year 95 have bigger rotors, compared to my 92-93, which is smaller.

I meant to say that both of my friends hatch's, an si and vx, both 95 have bigger rotors than my 92-93 hatch.

I didnt say vx and cx were different, but it is between the years for all the models.

Okay...

I've always known that only the ABS equipped 5th gen' Civic's had the larger front discs (10.38") while the rest had the smaller front discs (9.45"). Supposedly ABS was only offered for the 94's and 95 was the year they got rid of ABS for the 5th gen' Civic's. With that said, I've actually come across 92-94 Civic hatches (Si's) and 93/94 Civic coupes (EX's) with ABS -- don't know how the earlier years got them.

Anyway... I used to have a 94 Frost White Si w/ABS. The front discs measured 10.38". That car got sideswiped and I now have a 95 Granada Black Pearl Si non-ABS. I still have the rotors sittin' around in the garage. I just measured the front discs. They measured 9.45".

So, again... I've always known the 10.38" front discs to only be on the ABS-equipped Civic's. Also, my ex-gf's front discs on her 94 EX coupe non-ABS measured 9.45".

They offered rear discs for the ABS-equipped EJ1's as optional. Good deal! Let me know if you ever end up parting your car out.

Also, can you measure your front discs for us? -- to help this guy out.

That's weird because my 1993 Honda Civic EX Coupe without ABS has 10.3" front discs and rear drums.

Optional means not all of them come with it, only those that opted for them.

That's correct. All Civic EX models from '90-00 had 10.3" front rotors, ABS or not. No exceptions.

'92-95 Si had 9.5" fronts, with exception of the '94 Si with optional ABS, which had 10.3" fronts.

'92-95 LX had 9.5" fronts, with exception of the LX with optional ABS, which had 10.3" fronts.

Thus, all EXes and all ABS cars had 10.3" fronts. All other '92-95 Civics had 9.5" fronts.

Hey, I just got back from the junkyard yesterday. I checked out a couple of EX's for the tinted sunglass roof and was looking for a prop' valve. Anyway, I also thought I'd check the size of some front discs while I'd be down there. There were 2 EX's (non-ABS) that had 9.45" front discs. One was a 93 EX and the other a 94 EX.

*shrugs*
