Default Shocks/coil over/springs

Hey guys,

So I am still tring to figure out how the suspension works.
So far I got Shocks which can have dampening controls or none.
Coil overs are the adjustable height with springs.

So do the coil overs go over the shock itself? or if i get a coil over set I don't need the shocks?

Also what are perches?

With real coilovers you don't need shocks. If you just get coilover sleeves then you do need shocks. koni yellows shocks come with perches that allow you to adjust the height a little but not alot.

I was also wondering. To adjust the coilover height what do you need to do. Is it really easy or does it take some effort?
