Yes. The low oil light will be on all of the time. I don't think it will effect performance. But i'm not sure.

dummy light will go on and stay on as long as that line isnt reading pressure from the block, no it will not send you into "Limp-mode" or effect pressure. The Brass T fittings are incredible hard to find as i have found. I feel the best way to go is to just run off the standard spot on the block and then black out the gauge cluster using electrical tape over the dummy light.

Why would you NOT want one?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i was just wondering if that is possible...and i was thinking whats the use of the dummy light when i have the exact pressure inside my car??
..and also do u guys use the straw stuff that comes with the gauge or use braided lines??

You better hope to GOD that stainless steel line never comes loose in the interior of your car. Mechanical Oil pressure meters scare me.
If you wanna find that tee for your car.
http://www.anplumbing.com they have them here.

so would you rather use the straw or stainless line?

The oil pressure light will not go on if you don't use the stock sensor. It will have nothing to get power from so it will never go on. The oil pressure sensor works like this, the sensors circuit is always open, if the engine oil pressure drops below 4.3 psi the circuit closes sending the light on. If you have it unhooked it will always be open basically.
just get that greddy oil attachment thing ...forget what its called, its like 50 bucks....
http://www.dragracing.com has them in there store....ask for John and say I sent ya...

exxxaactly. You might as well get a tee or something, that way if you glance off for a sec and something does happen, you will see the light.

You could always make it work by doing that, but I always keep a real good eye on my gauge, so in my case its not needed.

usualy about $60-$100 more.
yes it's accurate. it's arguable if it's as accurate as mechanical though. but you do not need to have oil lines run into your cabin. which is always a plus.

Thats why alot of domestics have the gauges coming out of the top of their hood. That way if something blows, it doesn't **** up your interior, it just shoots all over your hood.

Hey Degooser...I've had my autometer gauges installed inmy car fora long time now... I just took out my stock oil pressure switch and threaded in the autometer sending unit directly into the block. The only problem is the oil warning light doesn't come on now!! so watch your gauges like a hawk. Car runs fine!!
why dont you just T it off the back f the blocks like ls\vtec and turbo motors... get a T fitting and have he stock oil sensor on one of the T and have the mechanical oil sender on the other side of the T.... if the sending unit is like the mechanical water temp unit(it screws into the thermostat casing) then i dont know what to tell ya...
