any good ideas on anti theft techniques
ive searched this but i like hearing from members. and most of the threads were alarms.
i live in apt's and always worry about my car being parked where i cant see it. ive lost three systems, a p28 ecu, ex gague cluster, college text books, Rx glasses, various cd books.

can the fuel cut off switch just be a toggle switch connected to the fuel pump and hidden somewhere?
its been about 3 months since my last loss, since then i have done little things to prevent theft, i wanna know some crazy creative effective DIY techniques.
those windows are so easy to pull back.

Land Mines are Cool, Remove your door locks, it's a bitch and a coffin if u get into a crash, but the thives can brake ur window, then sit there bitch *** in the broken gas, haha ****.
I decided to spend the extra $450 on the .45 caliber theft deterrent system. Man you should see those cowards run when the alarm goes off and you come out holding a gun. ... priceless.
can you wire your cruise control to unlock and lock the doors?
that way you can use the RS door bezel and not worry about not being able to lock/unlock your car w/out remote keyless entry.

Good cheap techniques...just dont work. Sorry.
OK you live in a apt and you have been hit a few times before.
1. get an alarm system.....youre car is sitting naked ( sort of the if a tree
fell in the woods senario) No noise..they are free to do work at will.
2. Have the LED mounted in non standard locations. Sure it may cost a few
bucks more ( depends on the installer..I see it as a pride in work issue)
But if theives see **** in places that aint normal..they are prone to live well
enough alone. ( hey a new use for those damn washer nozzles
.....I had a set
mounted in my altezza ( hey they came with the car...might as well make good useof them right,)tails. It all screams....*Hi end alarm...must walk away)
Now without #1 its pointless.
Hope this helps.

i had an alarm the second and third time (luckily an attemp to take the whole car hasnt been made yet), my led is on the dash between the head unit and the steering wheel, my next plan is locking hood pins.
i own a glock 17 and a remington 12 gauge. However, I am about to cop one of these beauties..

This is a tiny step down from the M-26, which is what law enforcement carries. if I am packing this I will not hesitate whatsoever to pull the trigger, not to mention i wont have to worry about the possible legal implications if I were to use a traditional firearm.
I was also thinking about getting some fake blood and putting stains all over the pavement surrounding my car..might not help too much at night, but every little bit helps, you know?
call me crazy, but I am really liking the razor blades under the door handles idea! I am really going to try to fabricate something like this! I was also thinking of getting some pins sticking out of the drivers seat!
has anyone ever attempted something like this?

My car just got broken into tonight. The best theft deterent is to not have anything for them to take. All they got was a pair of $30 shoes I left in there when I went to work. However I do have a broken window. Sorry if this is taking your post at all but I want to know how it would possible to keep them from braking the window in the first place.
those windows are so easy to pull back.
Yeah, that's a big problem on the 5th gen civics, the 6th gens, you go for the whole door frame, I'd like to see a little aftermarket latch there.
also, Thieves like to pop the hood latch, and remove the battery cables on an alarmed car, reroute your hood-latch cable, or hood locks.
Switch your red LED for a blue one... Instant alarm upgrade.
DON'T HAVE A FLASHY CAR.
Best of luck to all.

Did you route a kill switch to your fuel pump? I'm just curious as to how safe this is... I guess you just have to make sure the connections to the kill switch are secure.
what do i need to properly lock down my hood? sorry if this has been covered before..
i am looking to get an alarm very soon, does any packages come with any kind of hardware that i can use to secure my hood?

BAD IDEA. This will make people think you have something worth having and you're trying to hide it. best thing is if tinting, do a light job, and just keep valuable stuff out of your car, or if you can't, atleast out of site
