? about wiring a 4 channel amp
i want to amp my interior speakers, they are currently running off the factory wiring from an eftermarket deck. if i add a amp, the amp would be between the deck an dspeakers, so therefore, i would need to have speaker wire going from the amp to the speakers? and the factory speaker wire is not used?
ok the easiest option to do... put your 4 channel amp in the rear. Run your own wires right from the rear channels on the amp to the rear speakers. Then run your own wire from the front channels of the amp to the FACTORY rear speaker lines.... the ones that go back up to the radio. All you have to do after that is go behind the radio, cut all 4 sets of speaker lines (so the radio is no longer connected to any of the speakers), and loop the speaker lines going to the right rear speaker to the right front speaker lines, and the rear left to the front left speaker lines. This way the signal from your 4 channel will travel up the factory rear speaker lines, which then connect to the front speaker lines, and travel out to the front speakers in the doors. Doing it this way will save you from having to run your own lines and works well. Of course you could just run your own lines up front and tag into the front speaker lines behind the radio that way but why make more work for yourself?
ok, so if i do have the amp connected to the deck, and wires going from the amp to the speakers, i still need wires going from the speakers to the deck?
No. Once the amp is hooked up you don't need to run anything to the deck.
All you need is the deck with signal wires (RCA's) running to the amp(s). From there all speakers are connected to the amp only.
