short ram intake vs. CAI on rsx
Well HP wise, there is usually a difference of around 2 hp sometimes just a little more. CAI gives a better throttle response, and it works best with top end power, and with a short ram u gain more low end. Personally i have short ram on my ep3 and now i have an AEM CAI i just bought, but i am trying to sell it because its such a hassle to install for the difference the power changes. So if you want to save some time and money then i recommend short ram. take care. -dave
Go to AEM's website http://www.AEMpower.com and they have a nice dyno test using 4 or 5 different brands of Short Ram and Cold Air Intakes each. In each dyno they show how much the intake costs and the performance gains it gives.
Note: The tests were performed on a RSX-S.

but are these tests biased?

I always herd (.RJ) that SRI give you better throttle response then a CAI...

Generally yes. Also, when the car is moving, the underhood temp will be equal to ambient temp. There is some benefit in cold-air intakes for some applications though.
