Pics you DON'T want taken of your car!!!!!
This is me today... My stepmother clicked the camera at just the right (or wrong?) time!!! It was the only cone I hit all day too!!
All in all a great day of auto-xing though. This was my first race with the Falken Azenis (I was running Pirelli P-700) and OMG what a difference!!! I'm usually about 4 seconds behind the guy that normally wins my class, but today that difference was less than a second!!!! too bad some national big-shots showed up today in their Miatas to spank us all. They dropped me from 2nd to 5th (you only count the locals anyway, right?)
some more pics in case anybody cares:
Edit: added last shot taken by profesional that was on-site.

Very cool pic -- I've never seen one like that before -- cone in mid-air and all. Usually, when I hit a cone, it doesn't happen like your pic, where you barely glance the thing and send it flying. Rather, the cones I hit usually end up stuck underneath my car somewhere, 'cause when I hit 'em, it's because I hit 'em big.

you mean the fact that we're heading right for each other at full speed?
a lot of complaints were given to the officials about this setup.... the camaro is heading for the finish line here, through high speed slolom cones with very uneven pavement. a lot of people lost it there, yet the officials insisted on starting almost everyone in a way that they were going twards each other like that.

If you think Falken Azenis are good, just wait until you try out some REAL race rubber. A minimum of Kumho V700s is mandatory for CSP, they should have come as the stock tire for all '88-91 Civics, hahaha . . .
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

believe it or not, that would've accually made it worse.
the way the track was designed, the only truely safe way to run was one car at a time. and if we did that, we would've been out there until midnight.
Hopefully the course designers learned from their mistakes and set up a better course for today's race.

Nothing other than two side-loaded cars loaded such that should "something bad" happen, they would hit each other.
Makes for neat photography though...

Yeah, sometimes pictures just happen to catch the darnest things.
I asked a buddy of mine to take some pictures of the run group I was in last month, and low and behold, he caught quite a doosie. This Mini lost its front left tire coming around the skidpad out at the Streets of Willow Springs.
It wasn't until we were at dinner reviewing pics that we noticed his perfect timing.

We accually had a VW rabbit loose it's left front tire yesterday. sheered the studs right out of the hub. (aftermarket studs, stock hub, I'm guessing not torqued properly)

good eye there, you can barely see his front bumper.
I wasn't paying too much attention, but I do know that sunday he was down the ladder a bit.... not sure about saturday.

not too sure, i think that's the top of it's flight right there. it's home is in front of that pointer cone that's right below it in the pic
