I'm coming up on my first oil change for my 2000 Base Prelude H22 motor. I don't yet have a service manual or any specs for the engine. How many quarts do you put in this motor during oil change?

5.2 quarts if I remember correctly. I usually end up using about 5.5 quarts though.

Edit: I can get you the torque specs on the oil filter and drain plug bolt if you want them.

drain plug is 32 ft/lbs, but good luck getting a torque wrench on it. the oil filter is *mumble mumble* but all you do is tighten it down, then another 3/4 turn.

 

Heh thanks guys; I've never been too **** about the torque on the drain bolt.

I just changed my oil for the first time in my 5th gen a couple days ago. (at 3600 miles) It was the first time I had ever chaged the oil in any car before in my life and it really wasn't that hard. The filter was honestly the hardest part. But I ended up putting in 6Q's!!! THe manual only says 5.1 q's but for some reason my dipstick was still running really low after 5.5. Just play around w/ it, its not that hard!

 

5.1 qt is what it said on the manual
