what size piping should i get if im going to turbo y8 head with z6 block running garrett t3?

 

how much boost?


id say 2.5" if its mild Horsepower..... if its crazy then 3"

 

might wanna be more specific, piping for what? intercooler, exhaust?

 

i wanna know for intercooler and exhaust. im just planning to boost 6-7psi.

 

intercooler piping I would go for 2 inch for quicker spool, exhaust at least 2.5 max of 3 inch.

go for the 2 1/4" I/C piping, most I/C are 2 1/4" , 2" may run out of steam on the top end.

3" for exhaust, you can get by with 2.5" but why would you want to

Go with the 3" that way if you dont make very much power at least its still obnoxious!

 

3" sounds so big..i always thought 3" is way too big for a civic. but it doesnt matter for the car right, its what's inside the car but why 3" over 2.5"? ive heard different stuff.

 

get a 2.5". With the motor you have at the boost levels you're running a 3" really isn't going to make much more power, plus it will be loud as hell. 2.5"

 

There's no point to 3" piping when it's bottle-necked by your smaller throttle body. Go with 2" from turbo to intercooler and 2.5" intercooler to throttle body.

what does a TB have to do with exhaust?

 

The throttle body has to do with intercooler piping as asked above.

no, he/they were talking bout exhaust after the IC piping was answered a bit back..

all about exhaust, thas why i asked how that had to do with TB? Ic piping and 3" relations, stopped way back up there:
