Default What kind of clear coat/protective layer do OEM wheels have?

I'm cleaning up a set of OEM wheels and prepping them for paint and I notice they have a clear layer that doesnt quite seem like paint to me. What type of clear coat do the OEM wheels have? and how can I get a coat like that to match after I paint my wheels?

Youll need to strip it off with aircraft remover or something of that potencey before the paint will go yay. The painted Honda wheels are powdercoated, not sure how they apply the clear coat.

There are special paints for wheels. I'm pretty sure I saw a clear color. If an auto parts store (autozone pepboys) dont have it then you can probably find some online.
