Default Problems after Camber Kit Installation

First of all, the camber kit installed was the Progress kit with the polyurethane bushings. Only the front was installed.

Secondly, I have not gotten an alignment yet. I just went for a test drive and came back.

Problem: After installing the kit, I went out for a test drive. I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the wheel area. The squeaking only comes when I make a turn and under slight hard braking. However, when making slow turns (under 10mph), there is no squeaking.

Cause: Is the squeaking due to the fact that the camber kit uses polyurethane bushings? I heard that many people have had a problem with polyurethane bushings on the Ingalls kit squeaking. However, after lubrication, the squeaking is nonexistant. I was aware of this problem, and my camber kit was applied with a large dosage of teflon grease. However, there is still excessive squeaking.

Or could this problem be a result of my tires? My tires had excessive wear due to negative camber. Since the camber kit changed the degree of the negative camber, did that allow my tires to use the outer portion of the tire, in turn having less rubber on the ground? Thus, the squeaking is coming from the tires because there isnt enough grip?

Before I went out for the drive, the tires did look abnormally flat. I proceeded to get a pressure reading. It was 35 front/33 rear, as to the specs from acura. The pressure readings were from cold tires, as the car has sat in my garage for more than 12 hours. The pressure reading seems right, but the tires look very flat, so I just left them as they were and went out for the test drive.

I'm assuming that this is a problem with the tires, but am not sure. Should I attempt to add more air into the tires and see if it solves anything? Or could something have went wrong during the install?

I will get an alignment tomorrow, but I want to make sure that the squeaking isnt a result from a bad install.

It is prolly because of the poly bushings. I heard progress does squeak even when lubed. When having the car aligned, have them check the kit as well since they're down there.

Also, another problem I noticed is that the steering has a different feel. It doesnt feel as "tight". The steering seems to be "loose", almost like driving an Accord.

I felt that too. Maybe because negative camber gives a better turning ability that's why when you put on the camber kit, it went back to stock so it felt loose. How long were you driving lowered without a camber kit?

Adjusting camber affects the toe; a front end alignment should cure the loose steering. The squeaking is inherent with polyurethane bushings; I've observed the same thing with Progress and Ingalls brands. Best thing to do is to relube it or try a different grease.

I drove without the camber kit for about 10,000 miles.

Okay. I will get the alignment done tomorrow. Hopefully that will solve the steering problems. I will also rotate my tires.

Also, about the grease, what should i try instead? The kit came with teflon grease, and I applied the whole bottle of that stuff onto it, but still squeaking. I did a search and found that someone has used motor oil as grease and came out with great results. Should I try this or try some white lithium grease?

Also, will mixing different types ofgrease affect anything? Can I apply a different grease to the bushings without cleaning out the teflon grease first?

Resolution: Yesterday I went and took back out the kit. I proceeded to clean them out and relube them with a generous amount of white lithium grease. After reinstalling the kit into the car, the squeaking was still present.

I just came back from the alignment shop. It seems as the alignment did the job. The squeaking is now old news. It looked like the squeaking was coming from the tires. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Thanks everyone for the help.
