Street Legal Drags
I thought some of you would like to know about this. The California Speedway located in the city of Fontana changed their 1/8 of a mile to a new 1/4 mile drag strip. As I recall, the construction of this drag strip was the result of attempting to diminish illegal street racing. As some of you can remember the Street Legal Drags were held at the Pomona Raceway in the past, however they were cancelled last year, I believe.

only thing im questioning is the elevation. since pomona closed down, i've only been to palmdale and that track just sucks ***, i dont think its even nhra approved. hopefully this will be a nicer track.

since its pretty local for a lot of us lets make it happen. this way i can feel better about the things i leave in the pit while racing. Maybe we could take turns watching each others things.
I just don't feel comfortable leaving stuff out in the open with no one to watch it.

yeah that was a big concern, wheni gutted my car at pomona, i had my seats just laying there. didnt feel to comfortable about it but it was a big group so.. lets get this thing started, whos down to go?
Of course, you guys can count me in. I'm very curious to see the times that some of you will do.
Remeber that according to the rules they will open gates at 7am & they will only let 500 vehicles to race, so try to be there early or else no racing.

not sure if i'm goin the weekend of the 8-9th but i'll probly be there onthe 22nd for sure. we should have a small meetup for breakfast or something before hand so people don't get lost
Blitz has a valid point. Anyone go to the last pomona race? Lines for days!
I think i'll be getting there sometime around 5:30am. If this is open to domestics as well then i'll probably still be late. 500 spots seems like a lot but it WILL go quick.

If any of you where at the last Pomona event, you would remember that the cops with a CARB official had a checkpoint on the way to the freeway. They were pulling over all the cars that had "modified exhaust" and citing them. They even looked under the hood for non-CARB approved headers, etc. They also looked under the car to see if you removed the catalytic converter. So if your car is modified, you may want to look for another way to the freeway rather than the usual route.
Yes, domestics tend to be there very early. I wonder how many people know about this event, it just seems that not very many know about this.
Vago I'll see you there, I'll try to be there very early, I sure don't want the same thing to happen again like at Pomona.
