help me confirm my LS build up ideas
Alright I've got a b18a1, I've currently got some crower 62403's with the supporting I/H/E but there just isn't enough kick. I've decided to upgrade the bottom end. I just bought some p30 pistons and I'm going to get the skirts coated. Should I polish the tops to get rid of all the casting pits, and polish off the raised markings on the tops of the piston(I would think they would be possible heat risers) or is that a retarded idea.
What should I do to get a safe redline of around 75-8000rpm. I was thinking of using arp studs, upgrading the valvetrain(I was thinking of just upgrading the valve springs and not the retainers due the high wear of the Ti retainers, are there alternatives to the Ti retainers), and using a block girdle of some sort; z10's 3 cap or should I use the 5 cap. Is there anything i'm missing(besides water pump, oil pump, top and bottem end gaskets, and bearings.)
This is going to be a mainly daily driver, with an auto-x and highspeed de once a month. So maybe I should ditch 8000rpm as a redline and stick closer to 7-7500rpm, or would the reinforcements to the block be sufficient to get about 2-4 reliable years out of the motor
