Default Burning oil lots and lots

When I hit 4400+ I get a big cloud of soot and crap behind the car. This is most likely oil burning.

But it only happens when I hit the big cam.

I don't know how else I could be burning this much oil but only in vtec. Its not like there is a magical oil hole that opens up and dumps into my exhaust when I hit 4400, so any ideas on what it could be?

do u have a cat??? if not.. thats the reason.. doenst always necesarily mean burning oil...

my fully built b20/vtec did that when it hits vtec.. and doesnt reallie burn oil. My stock gsr does that only because i don't have a cat.. and im 100% sure its not burning any oil.

yeh car is all stock, compression checks out 210-210-212-210

95 gsr 107k on the odometer

I wonder if its just my crappy valve tune skills lol. Motor really seems fine (butt dyno!)

Mine did that before rebuilding the engine as long as I can remember even caring. I probably started noticing it since 50k miles and on until the engine was rebuilt at 75k miles.

It was like a smoke screen. Completely dry, black soot that spewed from the exhaust when the engine hit a certain rpm. It was so bad on the dyno that they had to open both bay doors and make sure that the storefront door was always closed.

Driveability was unaffected, and the motor was in a good state of tune. Compression test showed 220psi on all four cylinders.

'Til this day, I never figured out why it was happening.

motors have a tendency to have blow-by at high rpms.
