Default Stock Stereo Specs?

Hi!
I'm going to be purchasing a new Civic Coupe EX. Can anyone tell me about the 6 speakser stereo/cd system? How does it sound? Does anyone have the specs such as watts etc? Are the specs/watts any different on the 6 disk model?

Any input would be great!

Thanks... gb

It sucks. It might be 80 watts max, probably more like 20 watts continuious.

Thanks for the info,
Should I not even bother upgrading to the $600 6 disk model either?

in my personal opinion... save the $600, go to circuit city, best buy, where ever, grab a decent in-dash CD player, and some say alpine Type S or infinity speakers (dont' cost the most and still sound great) and slap or have them slapped into your car. You'll be under or near $600 and it will sound 1000% better.

Save your money and go to a car audio specialty store. Leave the BIg Box stores alone (ie Shitty City and and NotSo Best Buy). Those stores are the jokes of the car audio world.

good call, definately go to a car audio place that SPECIALIZES in car audio, get a good brand name deck and some door and rear deck speakers, maybe even a small amp

go to audio specialty stores for information, and buy from em if they have good deals...if not...EBAY! u really almost cant go wrong with ebay. i bought my rear 6x9 type s's in enclosures for 81 TOTAL bucks, front type s 6.5's new for 90 bucks from an audio store and i got a pioneer premier DEH-M840MP off my friend for 225 bucks (owed me money so i got the good deal ) all installed myself (help with HU from friend). so thats a total of what? 225+90+81=396 dollars and my car sounds GREAT! i also bought a type s 10" sub in a sealed enclosure for 81 bucks off ebay but i had to sell it cuz im broke so that was a full 5 speaker type s system powered by a great HU for right under 500 bucks. its all about who u know and patience to get what you want at the price you are willing to pay.

after extensive web browsing, i called Alpine (since they made my OEM stereo), and asked them; they didn't know either, since Honda allegedly designs the units, and Alpine makes them to Honda's specs. i have a 92-95 EJ1 Civic coupe with the AR premium sound system in it. i might have missed it, but i couldn't even find it in my Helm factory manual, which lists the sizes and torque specs of every nut and bolt on the car.

We all know Best Buy sucks, but Circuit City doesn't seem too bad. They carry Alpine
But they also carry the ricer collection 4" mufflers, SRI's and EuroTails. Ah, and can't forget the Underglows
