Does anyone have the Mugen air box up here?I'm not sure what intake/air box I'm gonna buy yet.It says on all the websites that they do not work with A/C.If anyone has one post some pics.I don't see what the air box has anything to do with the A/C.
It will work with the A/C in place, you just have to finesse the A/C lines around the intake. I personally don't have any pics, but they have been posted before. Try searching the H-T archives
I have A/C, I have a Mugen intake, but I don't have any pictures showing the A/C lines 'moved' out of the way.
It is a lot of work to get it in there, but with some double sided tape to protect the intake, everything coexists very nicely.

It's in there, A/C is too.... too bad that is the only picture I have.
Search KKim's archived topics, I think he has a thread about installing the Mugen Intake with A/C.

Thanks for all the pics,I tried searching first before I posted the topic and I couldn't find anything. Can you feel any difference once you installed the box?How much do they cost?

I wonder if this can be modified or combined with the J'S intake. I think the Filter design and COLD air makes the MUGEN but I think the Tube design makes the J's racing so effective.
Both are Carbonfiber which provides good Insulation from the heat.

Good idea, actually.
The diameter of the J's Intake (where the filter goes on) is 4 inches. The diameter of the stock tube is 3". So.... You'd have to get a modified filter for the Mugen intake to work with the J's racing intake snorkel.
Without some welding, I'm not sure how it can be done, because I have never seen any variant on the filter (and hardware attached to the filter) used with the Mugen intake.
Example of what I'm talking about.

The silver, circular thing in the bottom right of the picture... this attached to the filter and seals the cold air 'tube' (the giant one) to the intake tube. So, if you can find a modified one with a 4" diameter inlet, or modify one yourself, there you go.

Not to jack the thread, but...
Now that Silver thing is just a reducer with a Velocity stack or does it even have a velocity stack?
Now I am wondering how big the opening of the Box itself is. Looks larger than 3" (could be just the Picture)
Next question would be How to get it to stay. I guess the tube can be drilled with a Nut and Bolt combo to keep it together. No no no has to be something else...
Well then in thinking about this I wonder if that would reduce the effective ness of the System.
The J's unit is big and then gets small kinda like a BIG velocity stack Kinda horn or funnel shaped so using the Mugen Filter setup might have an adversed effect. I don't kno It's late and I was thinking. Maybe too hard.
Okay now if one can just fashion cold air box to encompass the J's Filter will this be just as effective?

.. that would disgrace the 97' R .. it was designed without it.
