Default 63.5 mm vs. 70 mm exhaust?

most japanese exhaust on the market are 60 mm - 2-3/8"...

for a 210-240 whp street NA cars, is 63.5 mm (2.5" OD exactly) sufficient, or 70 mm? there are no tubings sizes in between available (to produce a batch of exhaust). i guess ultimately some dyno and passes at the drag strip will tell but does anybody have experience?

as hardcore of performance guy i am, i still care about looks a bit. for 3" exhaust there are 2 available that i know of. i don't like how the Thermo exhaust look nor sound. Dynamic Autosports got GReddy to produce a 3" exhaust just for them, but it is for GSR's only...

just rambling in my head. is there a market for a good NA catback? i think there is...

For the price, its the best for the buck. I mean, think about. He sells a complete mandrel bent exhaust system if you don't want any resonators or cats. And also sells optional ttypes of muffler.

piping looks nice. but it doesn't answer my Q of performance.
pricing is good too but after welding, resonators, muffler, don't the kit easily come to $450+ for the end customer?

True, if you have hook ups with someone who knows how to weld, it can be cheap (or take a welding class at school, use this as one of your projects, hint hint).

As far as your setup, from what I've seen and experiences, 2.5" with your setup is perfect. With a 3", you are going to kill your low end, unless you have gearring to back it. But top end will be there. But for a street car, 2.25"-2.5" is effeicent.

I'm for one is still running a 2.25in exhuast, just waiting for my header to come in and will do 2.5" catback from Kteller.
