?'s about a b16a
I have a 89 crx si i had a b18a in it but now it has a crack in the block i cant decide what engine i want to get for it now either another b18a, a b16a, or a b20z what would quarter mile time be around with a b16 and can you really feel the vtec kick in
I wouldn't waste my time with a b16 if you have an ls tranny already in there. It will feel incredibly slow. I would look in to getting a b20 block. See if it's worth changing over, since you can swap all the crap from your b18a over to it more than likely to have it run non-obd and the better intake manifold and whatnot. Depends what your goals are though.
yes you can feel the vtec kick in (more so with I/H/E) I would go for the b16. I've had a b16 crx and drove a b18a crx and didn't like it. However deep your pockets are. Quarter mile depends on the driver and weather conditions.
well if you use the ls tranny, then dont put it on a b16, to long of gear ratio's makes the motor seem slow. but if your puttin in the b16 tranny also, then go for it, b16 in a rex SHOULD be 14.0 1/4 mile, then again you wont run that most of the time its around, 14.8 depending on how you drive, the condition of the motor/track/tires/everything else, lol theres to many variables to identify what your gonna run right now.
sorry for incorrect spelling or anything else. thanks

if your looking for better times on the strip then you need to look for a B20 block with a vtec head or a B18A with a vtec head. just a B16A in my hatch runs a 14.8, and thats with a molded body kit and a slidding ragtop creating alot of drag. depends on the driver and the money.
