whats the best cable tranny.. si, ls, or gsr?
i have a crx... i have a si (s1) tranny in there at the moment, but its starting to grind alot.. in the market for a new tranny.. or maybe just to rebuild mine. whatevers cheaper. im leaving my car n/a. no turbo for me. a b18a in there at the moment. what do you guys think would be a good all around tranny. to me the s1 tranny really sucked on the freeway. whats your opinions and why?
well Id get the shortest geared tranny and replace the 5th gear with the ls/b18b longer gear. That way you tear up 1 through 4 and can cruise on the freeway in 5th.
I've got an A1 on ym car now, and a US S1 from a 90 LS that I'm throwing a Quaiffe into once I get the cheese together... It's great having spare's.
Ratio's spatio's. Make enough power to where you need the extra gearing of the USDM S1. THEN you'll love your car.

Well first, your s1 (a1) is probably a 90-91 integra ls/rs/gs cable tranny. There is also a jdm s1 (and j1) that are very tightly geared. The JDM y1 is in between the ls and the j1/s1, but they had an option of factory lsd (I have one). I think if you can find one, the 92-93 gsr ys1 would be the best like mentioned above. Keep in mind that the ls/gs/rs had trannies labeled ys1 also in 92-93 (I have one), but they are geared long like the 90-91 s1 and a1.
