What seat to get for my ITR?
I finally narrowed down my quest for racing seat down to two choices...
it would be either recaro SPG or bride zeta II.. with rails both will come out
to the same price, the difference is that recaro's might be easier to locate as some shops might have them in stock, on the other hand there is a month wait for brides.
Then again brides are little more unique as they are harder to get then recaro so i'm not really sure which one to buy, i'm not really in a rush either so maybe wait for brides? If anyone had any experience with either one of the seats please let me know.. what you like/dislike about them. thanks!

dont buy brides, ESPECIALLY the one piece models without sitting in them first... they fit a little snug for most "normal" sized american people, i am 5'11" and 128 pounds so they feel just right to me..

Let me ask you a question, if you don't mind. Why do you want a BRiDE seat? Is it because of the JDM craze? I mean Sparco, MOMO, OMP are all in the ballpark of Recaro...
The most important thing in a seat is to test them out... I hope you had a chance to test out a BRiDE seat. G'luck.

ceas i'm probably just a bit taller then you.. but weigh 190.. they have that large version of the zeta II and i checked around with a few importers and they said someone of that height/weight should fit no probs as indicated in the details section for that model. Now i have not found anyone with the large version of zeta.. only the regular one for 5 foot peeps or shorter.. i can actually fit in there but need help getting out! hahaha.. its made for those less then 140lbs..
As for the recaro they seem very comfortable and well designed.. i'm going to test that one out this saturday at a local recaro distributor.. he has one spg left in the showroom.. so i'm gonna go see if i like it or not. And i'm not getting bride because its JDM.. well maybe i am, who cares really.. If someome has a the bride zeta II large ver here in Socal.. please let me know.. i'd like to see this seat in person if you wouldnt mind.. thanks again for all the answers.

hybrid_eg - the funny thing about Bride seats are that depending on what size seat you get, the mold is either inclined or declined from a "regular" zeta seat. There's a chart of all the Bride seats on the Aug issue of Option 2. Check it out... it might come handy when you're comparing the Bride seats. G'luck.
oh yeah..a big thing to remember is if its FIA approved or not...my mugens are not..so if i want to race i need t switch to one that is..
hey could you look into that for me? i dont have access to those magazines here.. even if i did i would have to look for a translator. Basically the seat i'm interested in getting iz Bride Zeta II Type L.. thats the name they have it listed under on thier website. http://www.bride-jp.com
All i could really read were the numbers.. 180-190cm.. and 80-90 kilos.. i fit in that body size range so thats why i'm so tempted to get them.. But i still do want to make sure i'll be able to sit down. Is there a way to research this somehow? I'd call bride myself and ask them if i could speak the language.. but i cant.
help!
you can also go to http://www.recarousa.com to check out what SPG seat looks like.. btw i'm looking for buckets this time, not reclinable.. but i must agree the JDM recaros do give you great support.

hybrid_eg - I'll scan the seating chart from Option2 tomorrow. (I owe Josh @ itrsport.com a scan... so I'll scan Option2's as well). I'll e-mail you the scan sometime tomorrow.
On the subject of the FIA seats...I remember somebody once posted pics of an OMP AVS seat install...but it doesn't turn up on the search here.
If you could please post up pics of the install I'd greatly appreciate it...

i'd love to get spoon seats.. but they are way out of my budget.. especially the one in kevlar.. hahaha like 1500 each with no rails.. i hope to buy brides for about 1800 new with sliders and everything else needed for install... i'm sure they will offer much better support then my stocks and thats all that it matters..
