Valve Cover Paint/Texture Question
When I painted my valve cover I was kind of in a hurry.. so there's some imperfections and stuff that's making me wish I did a better job.
I like the stock texture of the valve cover, moreso then stripped to the metal. But, before I painted it there were some paint chips missing and now those spots are missing that texture. Is there a way to get it back?
I realize I would have to start over.. but.. how can I get that texture back? In a Type-R reddish color?

FYI, I currently do not have a picture of the painted valve cover, but I hope to have one soon.
Do you think it would be wise to strip the valve cover of all paint first, or just paint over it with the Wrinkle paint? I'll have a second valve cover, so I can take hours, days, weeks to do it and still have my car.
I'm thinking it might be a good idea in order to get a more uniform look? But maybe overkill?

I purchase mine from Jegs store, but I noticed that they do not have it listed in their catalog or website.
You can buy it from Summit Racing. Here is a direct link: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=7841

Baking it in an oven. Wouldnt install it on the cr and driving it accomplish the same thing?
The day that I painted my valve cover it was somewhat humid and this was slowing down the drying time. After about 1.5 - 2.0 hours after painting the valve cover, the paint was still tacky. It does state on the can that heat would speed up the curing process. Therefore, I placed the valve cover in the oven.
it's not free, but cheap. Try going to Walmart in the Automoticve section and getting a product called aircraft remover. It is a paint sstripper and I have never seen anything work this well. I stripped a set of millenia wheel and never once did anythingmore than spray and rinse it on, wait 15 minutes and spray with a hose. One can will do a valve cover fine (Might want 2 for the nooks and crannys) and they are about $3 a can.
