How many of you have had turbo's fail due to a poorly designed drain line?
Just wondering.

im sure that my drain line is horrible but it hasn't failed yet! mine is watercooled so i don't get as much oil flow, and its not AS dependant on oil as sau a oil cooled t3.

Exactly one of the problems I've found.
Another problem is that I see many people on this board look down upon other drain setup's saying "don't use 90deg fittings", "the downward slope isn't steep enough"...ect...However, I see very few people end up with a blown turbo as the result...?
This is my opinion (based on evidence that I've seen)...
If the outlet of the turbo is higher than the inlet on the pan you will be fine (assuming the line is big enough (10an), and the entire drain line is lower than the turbo's outlet).

ya, 3 turbos later, I found this out. They may actuallly still be good, but they were tired anyway, and my 60-1 came back, so ya w00 w00. half inch ID isnt big enough on H series engines...
