New DC5 Spec R's spotted on the streets!!!
hiyas...
A few of my friends who live in Melbourne, AUSTRALIA spotted a few new Integra TYPE-R's on the street. They've seen the blue one and all mighty champion white! They spotted it with the 17inc, brembo's.. the whole JDM look. So I'm hoping that was the actual car we are going to get!
I really want to put a deposit down for this beast!!!
but i will be a poor bastard!

If they are on the same platform as the new Civic Type R then they'll have the same vague steering feeling....
some bloke on SHO who lives in NZ whos seen the official Honda spec sheet for the Sept 1 launch has confirmed that the Type-R AUstralia and NZ are getting is actually the Type-S version. How lame is that............ Type-S powerplant with the 7900rpm redline in Type-R clothes, well just the interior, it has the usual JDM goodies but the wheels are actually 16 inch, dont know about the brembo brakes and the body. It will be a real shame if Honda Australia markets an RSX Type-S as a bloody Integra Type-R here in Australia and NZ
. DC2R still the best!!!!!!

How sucky sucky is that! Cause i was just speaking to DC2#309 and they have the DC5 workshop manual and mentioned it is under powered. 200hp?!?!
It's either a de-tunned Spec R Motor or they did the short cut and wacked in the Type S block!
We always get smaller wheels too!!!
From the sound of things, I think the new ITR will cost about the same as the current (LEGEND) ITR!

yup.... your worst nightmare come true. Honda has done the unthinkable and marketed an RSX Type-S as a Type-R in Australia.. (Type-S with Type-R warpaint)WTF??!?!? i guess the current one wont be de-throned for a long time to come muahahahaha

Heck I doubt the UK will even get the Integra Type R. Because so far it's not even planned for a lauch there unless someone imports one there. But they do atleast get the Civic Type R which is something we never will probably get as well for the new ITR unless they bring it in couple yrs like they said in Car and Driver.

think again..... that wont be possible because the calipers on the DC5 are mounted before the axle, you cant just wack em on the DC2 because i presume the Brembo's are differential bore calipers.
and if you haven't notice, the stock calipers on the AUSDM ITR is almost touching the rim. I'm pretty sure the 4 pot will make contact.
N1 Spec, are you sure it's a Type-S engine we are getting? because it could be a detunned engine making the same HP as the type S. Anyways, I just hope it isn't the type-S engine because all the cool stuff that the ITR has like LSD, Cool gearing, lighter flywheel.. all gone!!!

Mugen_R, yes im pretty sure its a Type-S engine, according to Chucky (whos seen it in real life) the redline was only at 7900RPM. He said it had all the Type-R goodies inside ie, Recaros, Momo Steering wHeel, ti gear **** etc etc, but only 16 inch wheels.... he didnt say anything about the brembos. He also said the tranny didnt feel any more special than the current one, so as i see it everything is pointing towards a rebadged RSX Type-S....... lame

I would feel much better, if it is a Type-S, that they call it one rather than denegrating the Type-R name.
I guess we should give Honda the benefit of the doubt for the moment. There is too much conflicting info about to know the real truth.
(Waiting for good news on Sept 1 or before)

I have heard the news about the Type S spec engine and 16" wheels from a very reliable Honda NZ source so I'd be surprised if it turns out any different. On the spec sheet there was no mention of the Brembos but it did talk of the body kit so it's not all bad. I did notice that the Japanese site listed the compression ratio at 11.5 to 1 for the Type R so that might go some way to explaining why it's not coming here. If I update I think I would rather import one directly..
