cooper tires, good or bad?
Hey all, the shop I work at carries Cooper tires and since I can get them wholesale I will probably get a set from there as long as they dont suck *** or sumthin... So I am going to get the Cobra G/Ts 175/70R13 stupid steelies :/ Thats the only performance tire availible from them that will fit my rims.
Anyone have any opinions/experience with these tires?

I had a set of Cooper Cobra GTs that came with my prelude. They were 205/50ZR16 or something and were pretty decent from a daily driving point of view. They are a little loud but had decent grip in dry and wet. However, considering the other brands out there, I would opt to get something else that is both cheaper and better. If but you can get them dirt cheap then get them.
My brother has a set on his Mustang. Uses them for drags and autox. At first he liked them...I think he liked the price.
Three months later and the tires have plenty of tread left they just dont grip at all anymore. Ok probably for daily driving.

i just wanna leave my .02. COOPER TIRES SUCK!!!!! they gave me little to no grip. and as an added bonus, i lost my car due to these tires. the inner sidewall separated from the rest of the tire. this is the reason that i no longer have my 93 GS-R. crashed it straight into a center divider. i never sued because they probably could have argued that my car was too low (my brother brought that point to me). i was so sad to see that car go... i'm just glad that me and my friends are still alive. this happened almost 2 years ago.

My guess is that is about as good as you'll find for a street tire in that size.
