Default FYI: Removing the ECM/FI Fuse Did Not Reset My ECU

I removed the 15amp ECM/FI fuse for a total of 4 days and it didn't turn off my CEL. Interesting...

What CEL do you have?

What about if you disconnect the negative battery terminal, does it turn off the CEL after that?

Just the standard code 67(catalyst problem). I removed the fuse not really to get rid of the code but just as a security measure since I was out of town for 4 days. I've removed the (-) terminal before and that does in fact turn off the CEL.

are you sure your ecu isn't resetting.. then when you start up it throws the code again b/c the problem still exists?

That fuse kills the main power to the ECU, not the backup power. It's off when they ignition is off anyway. Remove the 7.5A fuse under the hood marked "backup" for 2 seconds and it will reset.

Or, disconnect the battery for 2 seconds.

When i had to do it, it was the "Hazard" fuse, if memory serves correct.
