DX and Si distributors interchangeable?
Well the damn little screw in the distro rotor came out on me again last night. But this time i now have a check engine #8 (TDC) and i'm assuming that the screw took part of the distributor out. So will they just swap over?

IF it is a TD-02U then YES. Otherwise, it its a TD-01U. Take a look at the mounting bosses and you will find the number stamped on it. I do have a spare Si distributor for sale, btw. If you need the screw-your Honda dealer should have them in stock.
NO they arent interchangable.........The Si dist. has a cylinder postiontioning sensor in it so the injectors know when to spray the DX dist. does not cause it just sprays fluid non timed since both the injectors spray to a common point.
just for clarification i'd be taking the distro out of the Si to get my DX running. So if there's a extra sensor i don't think it would matter to much.
So In other words.......just wait to put the B18C1 in then. Just gonna be fun to drive down to new jersy not being able to rev over 3500

Hmmm.. Didnt know the si distro was like that.. I really sure the HF one will work.. Either way it can be converted over to a mpfi with some of the parts from the si motor, mainly the intake manifold and the pm6 ecu, Just need to do a little custom wiring for the injectors and need a honda resistor box..

there is a star on the shaft. the si has many more inputs then the dx distro..</TD></TR></TABLE>
This isnt true the DX dist will bolt right onto an Si and an Si dist will bolt right onto a DX the only thing that is different is the cylinder positioning sensor. Just think about it when people convert their DX to MPFI the only things they need is the dist, ecu, and intake off of an MPFI car so in other words like the EX,Si, HF parts will all work on it. Well shouldnt say work but can be used for an mpfi swap.
However I still dont think it would work putting a Si dist onto a DX and just not hooking up the other sensor, the plugs and wires are different so I dont think that it would work.

Thats what I thought.. The ecu needs to know what cyl. your at so it can fire the correct injector instead of just knowing that its time to fire a common injector..
Ok you guys are great......now are there any write ups as to how to convert to MPFI? I kinda need to do this quick but i have an Si parts car so i have EVERYTHING I COULD POSSIBLY NEED. I'm driving down to Jersy on Monday night (about 260+ miles) and wouldn't mind being able to go more than 70 on the way there.
Here is one of them

Here is another

There are also others.. Ill try to find them and let you know..
Down to jersery.. Where do you live at.. Im assuming your going on I-95.. Youll get run over if you do 70 there..
AAA Plus is the ****.. 4 towings a year up to 100 miles.. Cant live without it..

go here https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch and enter things like mpfi swap, dpfi to mpfi, you could try just mpfi as well. It has been covered a bunch of times so if you check recent and the archives im sure you will find all the info you need and then some.
