Cadillac Escalante Replaces Integra as Most Stolen Vehicle
The pimpin' Escalante is now the most stolen vehicle:

It's what I call the Escalade, because the first time I saw the name, that's what I thought it was. I don't know - Escalante sounds like a real word, Escalade doesn't. Also notice the original ghetto pimp SUV, the Navigetto, uh Navigator is also on the list.
I dont think that means our Rs are more safe now than they have been before...not by a long shot. Maybe its a start though.

Maybe a start on decreasing insurance rates
(allthough most likely minimal decrease if any)

Good.
I hate those Goddamned things. I'm glad they're getting stolen. Too bad it won't dissuade the mouth-breathing masses from continuing to buy them.

Definately not by a long shot, When was the last time you saw a little ghetto thug say "check out the Escalade motor in my hatch yo".. When that happens I will know I can start leaving the keys in my car. Either way I am not surprised, I work in the city and the cops say the escalade is a hot topic along with pretty much any Honda. I told a cop one day that I have an ITR and he told me I got "Some *****".... oh well, I guess the Escalade Chats will start to look like H-T with the amount of 'Stolen threads' yeah right

This means ****. In the real world. ITR's and B series Honda's are still on the #1 most endangered species list. And will be until they're 99% gone.
The problem is when manufactures make better trims of other cars owned by Companies that are shareholders or owned by the popular car or the more luxurious/ sporty/ more $$$, or rare cars. The universal parts in the car that can be fit on other popular cars will make it more prone to theft.

"The report reviewed insurance claims for thefts or break-ins for 2000-2002 model year cars..."
I think the report pertains more to vehilces in that year range only. I still believe the Accord, Camry and Integra tops those vehilces listed.

If you click the sidebar articles, they talk about the Integra in last year's list and the RSX. I was wondering when the Integra would move down because it is no longer made and the RSX parts are not interchangeable with old Civics.
It's also interesting in the main article that they interviewed the local Cadillac dealer about the Escalante thefts. Here in the SUV capitol, Escalantes way outnumber ITRs. SUVs and hickuptrucks makeup 50% of all vehicles sold here.

but i doubt people are stealing the caddy's to strip it and swap it into other caddys. Their probably being stolen, and used as a joy ride.
