Pro Finale. Are you in or are you out??
currently i'm on the "in" list (i think). anybody know how drivers are selected? is it total points they look at or just the points from your two best events? most importantly, do they notify you if your eligibility changes, or do you have to check the site every day?
i see Aahj and Karen are on the "eligible" list. hope you guys make it in.

It's your two best of the first three events you ran. I think Aahj is going to make it in by way of Eric K. not running in DSP.

ProSolo Finale Qualification The ProSolo Finale entry list as of 8/21 shows all the people who qualified for the event. Qualification is those members that ran 2 or more regular season ProSolo events, are in the top 70% of their class and/or have a mathematical chance of winning a Championship. Those listed in the Eligible class are those members that registered for the Finale and ran 2 or more regular season ProSolo events but do not qualify for the Finale.
There are a total of 364 people who are eligible for the Finale. Those listed in the Qualified class are those members that qualify for the Finale but have not registered. We are in the process of contacting these people and they have until 5:00 pm central today 8/21 to send in their entry to SCCA. Those individuals who have qualified in more than one class must state their intended class by 5:00 pm central today 8/21. Depending on the number of people who register from this list, if we have not reached the 250 limit, then we will look into taking more people from the eligible list. All cancellations may not show on the entry list depending on time of cancellation.

Nope, I had to cancel out on Peru Pro, so I did not get my required two for this season. That is ok, this season had too much outside distractions to allow me to make a serious run at the National level stuff. This nationals is all about fun for me. I am running a ESP beast for a change and have set my expectations very low. I want to go out relax, talk trash, see friends, drink HEAVILY, take Aahj to Baby Dolls, and not think about anything going on in MD. I think I can accomplish this.
ahh....we have a virgin to the baby dolls experience! just be sure to tell them it's his birthday!! my b-day is this monday, the 25th, but i "extend" to the week of nationals just so i can have a 'birthday dance'

Back to the thread so this doesn't become another hamburger, or really tuna, discussion, I bailed myself outta the Finale at the same time I cancelled my third ProSolo entry, because there was no way I was going to get me and the car to Topeka last weekend to run it, and then get back to Topeka for Nationals. I had signed up for two days of warm-up way back as a contingency, so that'll be my first weekend activity instead.

Don't get me started on this bullshit. I evidently don't have enough points to qualify for FS, but I have more points than some of those listed in STX and in L1. Yet, when I pointedly asked Nancy Downing (listed as the registrar for this event) about whether or not I was "qualified" for STX or L1, I was told :

Not that I would have run L1 anyway, but I might have tried to find an STX ride (big emphasis on the "might").
I'll stop my rant now. I posted a much longer rant on SCCAforums, if you care to read it.

nate-who cringes everytime someone says the scca wants to get solo attendance up. 3 day pro-finale and a 5 day championship??? can that even work??

You would be correct in that assumption. It's titled "ProSolo and Accountability -- yes, it is a rant".

Pro Solo can be something of a popularity contest, which has an effect on how the "rules" are applied and followed.
The entry selection for the Finale seems to be being handled similarly.
You're either in the "clique" or in-bred family, or you're not.......

somebody needs to let Russ know that Hiroo Sumida already had 42 pts before the first east coast pro-solo was even held. cut off dates won't solve anything imo. parity for all is, and forever will be, very tough. how i long for the days when i was so new at this to not know the issues and not really care. ignorance truly is bliss.

Uh, Nate, not trying to burst your bubble, but the first east coast event is the first event of the season. Ft Myers Florida and is in Feb. usually. But I know what you meant.

oh yeah, forgot about that one. it's almost the same distance to florida as it is to topeka for me, so for all intents and purposes it might as well have been in CA as FL. the point was that due to the locations of events, a points cut-off date wouldn't work. sorry for the confusion.
nate
edit: don't you know that "east coast" means boston???
FL is "down south".

The latest entry list for the Finale includes all the registered eligible entries received as of today. This puts us at 258... so no more guys. The cancellation date will stay the same September 3rd and we will not replace, 'cuse we're already full". Should be a fun weekend with plenty of time spent together.
Thank you for your patience,
