Default Drove a 00' 911 today!

My uncle came over today and had me wash his car for him. He is a lawyer and has gotten me out of a few tickets so this is how I repay him. He owns his 00' 911 and a 89' 930 Turbo. After I got done washing his car, I was joking with him about going for a ride in a real car. Which I was talking about my ITR. He grabbed my keys and we went for a ride. Overall, he liked my car and was surprised that it was a 4 banger. When we got back to the house, I was walking in the house to take a shower. He yelled at me and when I came out of the garage he threw me his keys to his car! I asked him if he was sure and he said yes.

I got in the car and couldn't find the ignition. I didn't realize the key was on the left. Started the car and was off. All I have to say is I need a Porche. His car was a little too quiet for my taste, but he said he was going to get a new exhaust soon. He told me to get on the expreeway and hammer it. I wasn't going to refuse, would you? I got it up to about 110mph and then a plastic bag in the back flew up (from the wind) and went in my face and then I slowed down.

While we were riding around, he told me that he test drove a Twin Turbo AWD 911 last week and was thinking about buying it. I asked him if he was going trade his 00' 911 in and he said NO! I guess his practice is being very good to him. When we got back, he told me he would bring his 89' 930 Turbo over and I would have to drive that. This is going to be interesting cause it has about 450HP. It has a bigger turbo, intercooler, and exhaust. I'm sure some other things to.

Just thought I'd share a experience and my thoughts with you guys. Very nice car.

00' 911 is a great ride, But a Twin Turbo is a different ball game. That thing is fast!!

I was lucky enought to have an autocross run in a 98 911 Twin Turbo AWD, on forgelines and Hoosier Road Race rubber...it was insane, D rode with me and can attest to that. The Type R is fast, the 911 is incomprehensible. We hit redline in first so fast that my brain was somewhere near the rear glass. Later the guy did a RUF conversion, dynoed at 650 HP at the wheels on an AWD dyno in New Jersey....and a little bit after that he lost it at nelson ledges and wraped MY BABY around a tree....$250,000 insurance claim. I miss that car

And you will be hard pressed to meet a bigger jack *** in your life

Maybe we can talk him into a run in his 355 before he wads that too.

Hey I know that guy. I met him at Nelson Ledges before he did the RUF conversion. He spun it on the front straightaway right in front of me and I almost got video of it. He does have good taste in cars, I was chatting with him once, and he told me about all the cars he's owned... S2000, 911 Turbo, Ferrari Testarossa, now that 355 or whatever it is. I need to get a job doing what he's doing!!

I was fortunate enough to drive an 86 930 Turbo when I worked at a mechanic shop about 5 years ago. The shop owner was also the owner of the car. It had exhaust and Turbo upgrades and fast doesn't describe the demented experience I had in that car. Safe to say it almost got out from under me and after my heart rate slowed, I went back and parked it. BTW, my boss was unaware of any of this!
He left it parked in the yard and told me to put it inside after closing up. Well, needless to say I went for a quick "test drive", that I came back pale from.

I love Nelson Ledges but it is an unforgiving coarse if you go off in most place, usually a drop off followed by a tire way, some people I heard before the straight away have gone off and ended up out side the fence in the swamp area!

Time to Brag, I run the Motorsport Division of Auto Europe in Birmingham Michigan, I get to modify all of the above and drive them, some clients also request I take them and "drive them hard" to make sure everything is o.k . Check out the web-site and click on sales, then preowned vehicles. http://www.auto-euro.com I have had a chance to drive most of the vehicles for sale on different occasions, Lotus also rents one of the local tracks twice a year so we can go and play.
