Good idea or not?
OK I want to start on my car so bad I can taste it. I want to do everthing at once, swap, suspension, rims, paint...etc. Heres the deal I don't have the money to do it all at once. So here is the plan, I want to swap for a b18c but I don't have the money. So my choices are.
Hey if you guys could tell me why you pick what you pick that would help too. Also what would you do about the color of the engine bay. I was thinking of just spraying it black while the engine is out so if I ever want to repaint again I can and don't have to pull the motor. Thanks a lot guys...

Wait and save money for the GSR engine, you won't regret it. I was going through the same dilemma when my car d15 engine reached 130K miles and I was losing power by the minute. The B18C1 engine is one of the most supported engines as far as aftermarket parts, that reason alone should help your decision.
If you really want to start now, then I would first do your suspension mods, upgrade the brakes and or pads, and get some antisway bars for the front and rear. Then, I would save money to get the swap.
I am in the same boat as well. I want to swap the engine in the civic as well as build a gti racecar. I just need to save. I am so glad they have pre-tax savings at work. That way I don't touch it.
Why don't you look into a 401k? That way you too could save money from your check and borrow against it later when the money builds and you find an engine you want.
