Alternative places for jack stand?
Hey people. I got a question for ya.
Where is another spot, that is close to the front jack placements behind the front tires, where i can put a jack, and not have to worry about ruining the under carriage. Like right next to the jackspot, the plastic, feels like there metal underneath it,?? I dunno, does anyone have an alternative way of doing this.
The problem is that i dont have my hydrolic jack here, all i have is the shitty one that comes with the car. I need to get it high enough to get the jack stands under it, and i obviously want them on the placement spots.
I tried the front under the bumper spot, but the stock jack wont go high enough, i have also gone on the front control arms at the pivot point, but again, not high enough.
If anyone has jacked from a different location, i would love to hear about it....or any suggestions...
thansk

if youre really planning on doing your own oil changes in the furture buy the jack to save you time and so you dont hurt yourself or your car.
ive used my scissor jack right behind the front jacking point to get my jack stands underneath the car...and also needed a piece of wood to get it up high enough for the stands...
Don't even mess with trying to place it somewhere else. I've seen jacks slip too many times, those stock ones like to bend right where the base meets the scissor part.
Just spend the $40-60 to get a hydraulic one, they're easier to use anyway.
