OT: but i know a lot of you guys own them, or have driven them (GeorgeKnighton, this means you)
I have to sell the WRX due to financial issues (basically my parents need help paying for school so i need to drop car payments pretty decently
)
Problem being, i want something reliable, and something that is fun in it's stock form, fast means nothing to me any more, i just want it to be "fun". I'm gonna get to the point.
How is the EP3 to drive? I know there are some killer deals out there on them now...Some dealers have 02's on the lot even now, they were GIVING them away 6 months ago when they still had them, now the STARTING offer i got is very attractive, i can probably work them down some more. I'm just looking for general driving impressions, quirks, likes, dislikes, etc... Thanks for helping an ex-r owner (two times over) out.

If it helps any, my friend got his EP3 for $16.5 out the door from Metro Honda in Montclair, CA just a month or two ago. Pretty fun car, the build quality is much better than the previous generation Civics. The shifter in the middle take a little getting used to, as well as the lack of an armrest.

not a bad idea, but i'm trying to stay away from older cars just as a reliability thing, i like the civic b/c it'll come with the warranty, etc. the other car i'm considering is 98ish 240, but still leaning on the civic b/c of the whole warranty thing

Thought about getting a (or better) job to help keep the car? You're already losing money on it when you sell it, compared to what you owe. The new Sentra SE-R Spec V is supposed to run $18K, I think even with Brembo brake upgrade. That would probably mean they would go for $16K and change delivered.

yeah, thought about it, tried it, didn't work, Working + school for me equals bad grades. Recently found out i had ADHD so that may explain a good bit of it, i really use all my time to go torwards studying and making sure I make the best use of the money they're spending on me. I know that it's a special thing and not every kid has this kind of opportunity, so I appreciate it and want to do the best that I can. I won't be losing much, if any on the WRX i hope since i put a decently sized down payment on it.. The main thing right now is dropping the payments down for them.
As far as the SE-R, the deal on this Si i have been looking into is actually better priced, and i'd love to come back to hondaville.

EP3 is a great car IMO. The seats are comfortable, the wheel and rest of interior is nicely styled, lots of room, good gas mileage, <U>warranty</U>, and good old Honda reliability. You'll be happy with the decision.

Didn't the Virginia DMV tell you that if you sold one more car, you'd have to get a dealers license?</TD></TR></TABLE>
in VA i believe thats if you buy/sell more then 5 vehicles in one calendar year.

I dunno John, I test drove one and it wasn't too shabby. Honestly, I think I liked driving it better then the R.

Yeah, but the thing is i don't WANT to do it... sucks that i finally find something i'm happy with and have to get rid of it. ah well. And i think i've passed the time frame from the whole dealer license thing, i've had the WRX for 4 or 5 months now.

I thought you signed a paper too?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Too much $$. Need to keep it cheap, and the Si fits the bill.
The paper, well, i never technically signed it
but then again, i'm doing it for them to help out with the tuition, so they can't complain but so much.
We're still weighing our options though, so i guess we'll see...

I own an EP as well as Integra. The EP is by FAR alot roomier. The newer Kseries motors are alot more torqy than the B series. The seats are comfortable and are made of the material that is EXACTLY on your Type-R seats.
The shifter is good too, its great and convenient in turns. I paid roughly 17K after TT&L for it earlier this year.
BTW, you really got this in the wrong forum, try posting in the EP forum where you would probably get better feedback.

its a comfortable fun car, the handling isnt really there like i would have wanted, but its a cool little car, i like ours.
Thanks again for all the input, one way around me modifying it is by me being poor.
If i don't have the money, i can't do it!
You don't have to worry about moving it George, i went ahead and made another post over there this morning, I just posted here first b/c I know most of you guys and trust your opinions. I went ahead last night and put out a bunch of emails up and down the east coast, I guess we'll see who comes back with the best offer.
