For those of you who have a 6-pt rollbar, can you still remove things like your seats, etc after its welded in? Do most people get them welded in or bolt-in? If you bolt it in, do you have to tap the chassis for bolt-holes?

Also, can anyone recommend a good place to get one made in colorado?

 

If your chassis/firewall is stock and running 10's doesn't the rule book say you can just run a roll bar? Just curious.

Yes everything is still removable in my car...except I didnt try the headliner. It really depends on how the cage is installed though.
They can be welded or bolted in. You will want to print out the pages in the NHRA rulebook concerning cages/rollbars and be sure to follow them closely.

Was your roll bar a kit 93lsivic? Or did you get a custom one?

 

Made for the car. I can get custom bent 8 point mild steel ones all day for 175.

I can get about 60 ft of piping for that price, but crush benders really suck(and take forever to bend)...Then I can just do the rest of my chassis in the straight stuff w/some elbows or something...

 

Tinker, I dont know if your asking me if I can get a cage for you or not......but I dont believe they have a del sol cage pre-bent in the shape you are asking about. Im not even sure if they have one for a del sol at all unless you want a 4 point, but with both you and your gf's car I dont think the 4 point will be legal for either of you's.

 

ya, I think we are just going to build our own, crush-bent style. Hey, they arent flowing high speed gasses or anything through them, so I believe they will work just fine.
but ya, I was asking if they had anything for the Sols at all

 

I have several places in Loveland and Ft. Collins that will do a cage for you if you feel like making the drive way out here.
