Anyone running the HAMP oil filters in their R? What are the differences between the OEM and HAMP filters? Is the HAMP strickly for track use do to it's different flow characteristics, if any?

 

the only reason why I run a Hamp is because of increased oil pressure.

I ran one for several months/thousand miles and cut it open. It was in perfect shape.

The new RSX filters (actually what Honda is selling for all cars) are the same size, just a little less filtration media. I don't know if it has the same cool bypass valve or if it's a different design.

the new honda filters, the little ones are made by fram!! Ask for an S2000 oil filter next time you get one part# 13441-pcx-004

 

I knew that Honda was switching to a smaller filter , but when I went to Honda today I was surprised to see that my dealership had them in. So my question is how due these new smaller filter compare to the old US made version?? I know this was covered awhile back but I cant seem to find it using search. Thanks for your insight.

 

Noticed no difference over the OEM ones. They look green and are much more expensive.

I've tried the regular ones but didn't want to risk the small ones.

Which hamp filters do you guys recomend using? I still have 3 left that are H1540-PR3-408. Is this just the regular one?
