Default Prelude Turbo installation HELP!!!

hi all, i am finally finishing piecing together my turbo kit and ready to install them once i gather my last few parts. what i need to know is:
1. info and where all the fuel/oil lines are to the turbo/car (oil return, oil feed, and more?)
2. bov and wastegate are they just bolt ons? or need to connect the vavles, i dont plan to use a boost controller, just using the spring to set the psi, so do i need to connect anything to the wastegate?
3. note/cautions b4 i start my car after the installation? how much more oil to add?
whatever suggestions/advise, please give, i am doing the installation my self, i literately can bolt all the parts on, just need to know all about the oil lines to make it work, any torque spec for tightening the turbo to the manifold?

1. For the Oil Return, you will have to tap the oil pan. Go as high on the pan as possible for better flow. For the oil feed, tap the oil sending unit on the back of the motor. A "T" fitting works great for this. The fuel depends on the setup. If it's electronic, it will need to be wired up. If it's a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, it goes between the return on the fuel rail and where the fuel return goes into the firewall.

2. Yes, the Wastegate bolts onto the turbo manifold before the turbo housing. You will need to run a vacuum/boost line from the output side of the turbo to the wastegate (The turbo probobally already has a nipple for this) If you're running more than 15 PSI, it is recommened to run the line from the intake manifold. The BOV goes into the intake pipe between the intercooler and the throttle body. The BOV is vacuum controlled, so you will need a vacuum/boost line from the intake manifold ran to the BOV.
3. Be sure you get a boost gauge and a air/fuel gauge! First time boosting, make sure the wastegate holds the boost at a safe level. The air/fuel should be reading Rich at boost... After the installation, remove the coil wire from the distributor and turn the motor over until the oil light goes off. This will ensure that the turbo is oiling and up to pressure before you run it.

As far as oil level, I run mine half way between full and -1 quart on the dip stick. This ensures the oil will drain into the pan properly and ensure that the turbo won't smoke. Just aid oil until you get it where you want it after you have pressurized the system.

If I left anything out, let me know, and I will try to answer!

It wouldn't hurt... The only thing you don't want to do is crank your car and boost before the turbo has a chance to fill with oil.

thanks Nocturnal thats some useful infomation, my oil pan is already tapped (the previous owner turbo the car, and imma glad its tapped real high)
"For the oil feed, tap the oil sending unit on the back of the motor. A "T" fitting works great for this"
can u explain more on that, dunno where the oil sending unit is...
"The BOV is vacuum controlled, so you will need a vacuum/boost line from the intake manifold ran to the BOV."
which vacuum can i use from the IM? the one i used to do vacuum test on the engine?
"After the installation, remove the coil wire from the distributor and turn the motor over until the oil light goes off"
umm maybe this is a stupid question why would the oil light turn on?

i have a chance to get the autometer boost gauge and air/fuel gauge with the pillar for 100, is that a good price? how do i hook those up?

which vacuum can i use from the IM? the one i used to do vacuum test on the engine? (Yes, any of the nipples on the intake manifold will work. If none are open, just get a tee)

umm maybe this is a stupid question why would the oil light turn on? (This is assuming you drained your oil with the install and refilled. The light comes on until the oil sending unit senses normal oil pressure. Once the oil pump is up to pressure, the turbo should be lubricated)

The best I have found on the boost and air fuel gauges was $103.00 for both at summit racing... The pods are usually another $20.00 to $25.00)

Hope that helps
