ok, the car is a 96 gsr. i had the car on jacks in the front so with the front wheels in the air, there seems to be play of about an inch when manually moving the wheels foward or backward. this meaning that its about an inch before there is pressure is any pressure to move the wheel. and the bad part is that in that inch or so of play, it makes these "clicks" and "clunks" noises. could this be my differential or anything bad? i know it doesnt sound crystal clear but i need help. thanx!

i think ur ok....theres a small washer type w. a little bit if it sticking out and it goes to the tranny. it goes on the top of the imput shaft...its lose in the tranny..when u move the diff.. back and forth..the washer hits the tranny..case and makes a clik and clunk noise...u should be able to turn the wheel w. ur hand when its up..w. the car not in gear..if it rolls smotthly u have nothing to worry about..
they all should..all gsr trannies have this washer type i'm talking about..but the diff..makes a little bit of noise too...the gears in there are not tight..
