Default exhaust paint!

i just receved my brand new hks hi power cat back exhaust system and a small spot has been worn to the bear metal. i try to fix that by simply covering it w some high temp paint. i had a little over spray so i wipe it off and it took off the factory paint with it!!! so i take it all off and now have to fix a big spot.why did it do that!?what kind of paint can i use? plz hurry.....gotta get thta exhaust on quick!

Brand new exhaust had spot worn to bare metal....hummm....I would have sent it back. Why are you worried about it anyway? Can you see it when it's mounted on the car? If anything just spray it with the high temp paint and be done with it.

Well actually you have about 4 options here. First being the best, if you got the money take it in ang get it powder-coated. It will make it look custom and keep it from being to badly worn. Second you could get some POR-15 manifold paint and brush it on, it lays out smooth by its self. Comes Black ,Silver or aluminum. Third you could just keep using the high-temp stuff in spray cans and keep doing that ever so often to maintain it. Fourth return it, but whay thats time wasted and like the manufacture cares about the finish.
