ZC DOHC motor with boost?
ive heard that these motors tend to not do well under boost? is that true? if so what parts will be need to be replaced so that the motor will no blow? or will it do will under boost with stock internals under 10psi? thanks!
Checkout http://www.thezcresource.com. Lots of ZC information.
The ZC bottom end is pretty much identical to the d16a6 (just has a different piston). They are your normal run of the mill d-series blocks.
The head is good..the intake ports low LESS then a y8 while the exhaust flows better. It has a better intake manifold then the sohc motors.
Parts are somewhat hard to come by...but the block any d16 parts will work and the head is similar to the b18a/b.
They arent really any better or worse then a d16z6 or y8. They make about the same power. Im guessing dyno numbers will be similar also.

Some people would say the ZC loves boost. From liams description of how the exhuast flows well, that would make sense. They make around 130 or so hp I think depending on year? And you adjust the cams seperately since its a dohc. The weak point is the rods. Depending on how much power you make and how you tune, 10psi could be fine.
