Temp Sending Unit
Is it stock sending unit.. or is it aftermarket?
If its stock.. than just replace it.. (its right next to the oil filter)... youll need a deep socket wrench (i think its 22,23, or 24mm)..

On my '98 (also my '95 Teg) it's up near the upper radiator hose.

The accord has 1 2 3.. count them *4* temp sending units of various use *yikes*.
One on the back of the head in the thermostat housing. (ECU use)
One in front of the head on the water outlet. (ECU use)
Two right smack in the middle of the head for the temp guage and the fan. If you're replaceing the one for the temp guage, look for the one with a large single black slip on connection. All the others use a GREEN connectors.
The sensor on the back of the block by the oilfilter is the oil pressure sender

thats interesting because the F23 doesn't have one there, but the water outlet neck has a spot in it that looks like it should have one. It's exactly where I put the sensor that came with my autometer water temp gauge. I guess thats a good spot to put it
I'm pretty sure the one on the thermostat housing is only used to turn the radiator fan on/off.

According to my 1991 electrical trouble shooting manual, the thrmo housing and water outlet (obviously they quit doing the outlet housing on 98+ or something) is for ECU use. It goes on to show that the larger water temp sensor on the middle of the head is used for fan.
Obviously this coulda changed over the years. My 1991 harness did have all of those sensors available to me though. I'm not certain of the year my head is from and it came with the water outlet attached.
thermo housing:

the rest. sorry 2 pics, but i didnt have the housing on yet in this picture:
