setting timing without belt cover

Default setting timing without belt cover

how can i set the timing if i dont have the timing belt cover on the car? is it possible?

There should be a smaller mark on the block itself that corresponds to the mark on the cover, however it's hidden by the pulley. You may be able to extend it, but I'm not sure how accurate that would be.

ok which timing belt cover the whole lower one that covers behind the crank pulley or the top one that goes behind the cam gear? and are you TDC it or trying to time it with a timing gun? let us know then we can help you better. gloria
