Default Oh **** gauge cluster

I decided to buy some of those reverse gauges. Well I heard some horror stories about people messing them up. So I brought it to a shop to get done. Well the person took the needles off. To fit the gauges. Now they really dont work, but very slowly and sometimes not a all. Any way to tell if its broke? <sigh> or is there something I can do to reset them? Oh and the gauges were super glued down. They look like they have plent of room to move. Thanks. its for a 91 prelude si.

Take that puppy back to them and have them fix it or replace it. Thats why you had someone else do it in the first place.

they screwed up the gauges by taking off the needles. obviously these guys have no clue what they're doing. they were suppposed to slide the gauges on without taking needles off, it's usually a very tight fit and you have to play around with it but that's the way to do it.
go back and tell them to either fix it (which is probably not possible) or buy you a new gauge cluster.

yea i am stupid too and took the needles off. The stupid cheap copied instructions told me too and when I put it back on the needles were going crazy not accurate at all. I just bought a whole new unit (the cluster itself is expensive even at a junkyard) I think u can get the cluster recalibrated, but thats just a guess.

Buy the whole dash peice on e-bay. I found mine for 50 bucks

i did the same thing a few years back.....i ended up having to replace mine...i tried doing a custom gauge set up and it didnt work too well....so i would just throw down the cash and get stock...so much nicer and easier to deal with....

Hey, I feel your pain. I had the same problem. see i got the reverse glows put on and the guys who did it messed up my needles as well. but thank god one of the guys knew a little bit about hondas. He took my cluster apart down the the magnets that sit inside and readjusted the needle to sit properly again. thats all the problem is, its when you move them the magnets inside are not at the right placement so the magnetic force cant move the needle. Its a bitch to get fixed, and i dont know of any places that will do it. Honda wont even do it. but its possible... my suggestion, buy some used gauges from somewhere or new from honda (close to 800 bucks) and leave them alone from now on.. wish i had done that =\

eekkk don't spend 800 or buy it from honda. Go on e-bay first, if it's not there go to a wrecking yard. I was going to buy a used one there till I found one on e-bay
