Depends upon overall registration. 50 would guarantee it, though.

We might try to get even 20 to a non-hyperfest weekend this year first before making demands.

Where do you get this from?? Last two races had 30+ Honda-Challenge Competitors and still we were lumped in with 5-6 other groups. Even I can count.

 

Hmm last two races would be Summit.... your own run group and VIR with small bore. So that would be 1 race with over 20 in a mixed run group

 

From results, not actual regs:

Round 1: 19
Round 2: 29
Round 3: 32
Round 4: 24

For Round 5 so far there is maybe 17. So 30+ is really stretching it. Plus AFAIK we didn't have any kind of agreement with NASA-VA on run groups this year. Could be wrong.

ok, maybe I exaggerated a little but 29, 32 and 24?(I think you better check the list of drivers again) is a far bit closer to thirty than your 20. I counted 30 on the lap-times printout at VIR. 32 at Summit and 29 before that. ALL very close to, if not more than 30. So I assume you really didn't mean it when you said we haven't had 20 this year.

 

Like I said, those numbers are from the results. There were probably more drivers registered for those events. Even so, we are talking about needing X number of drivers pre-registered to have even any hope of getting our own run group. So I stick by my original statement of not even 20 for a non-hyperfest weekend.

 

Sorry... I don't see the logic in your statement when looking at the data... Will we see you on track anytime soon?

Well .. I can tell you I didn't use the scientific method Just my feeling based on the numbers in the results and the low pre-reg counts from the theads here.

Not really trying to be negative, just realistic. I wish we could get our own run groups again. Last year we had a deal with NASA and Scott G. busted his butt to make sure we had enough people commited each weekend. We have neither this year.

Well, because I was there, I can tell you those numbers are flawed... There was quite a bit more cars than your numbers show, at the races. My results show that 32 paid and showed up to the track for Summit(looking at my race results printout) and I counted 30 at VIR.

 

We would still need to get people to pre-register in greater numbers.

 

It may help if the incentive of having our own Race, if a given number was reached, was added. Peer pressure is a 8itch.

Last year we did have a special arrangement by Nasa Va. This was to help grow the series and get noticed. It worked. Folks from Cali to Washington state to Texas all are following what we did.

Now, with 20-30 cars fields we can not simply demand our own group. There isn't enough time in the day. Check your past schedules. We are part of the NASA race weekend. No more special than the small bore Spec Miatas or GTC. I think the 944's had a bigger turn out at VIR then we did and weren't they racing with big bore? They didn't get their own group.

Don't worry so much about run groups. Just get good a lapped traffic.


John- who owes many apologies to the small bore guys for being such a 'bully' at VIR.

That's great, and the reason they haven't had their own group is because they don't have the large number of entrants that we have here.

I never said anything about US being more special than anybody. I wasn't the one who advertised the HONDA-CHALLENGE as the FEATURE RACE GROUP of HypeR-Fest. BTW... How are we the Feature Race Group if we don't have our own race? (just a question).

Me Worry? Never... I just wanted to race the race I signed up for. Small-Bore is not the Honda-Challenge... it's small-bore... very much like that other sanction's races.

Draw up a schedule with individual run groups and show it to Chris.
